AMICOS is a non-profit organization that works with and for people with intellectual disabilities and their families, with the aim of building a more inclusive society. AMICOS purpose is support the life projects of people with intellectual disabilities, autism, paralysis-brain damage.

Founded in Spain in 2000, AMICOS’s purpose is to contribute to the full inclusion and active participation of each person in the community. The organization supports every day more than 800 persons throughout their lifetime, from early childhood to grown-ups, providing adapted care, education, training and employability support.

AMICOS implements innovative projects to contribute to sustainable rural developmentinvolving people with disabilities in ecosystems protection activities, seas conservation and forests reforestation inclusive programs. AMICOSʼs vision is to contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable society where people with disabilities become active participants in the societal and environmental challenges that society faces.

AMICOS has a professional and multidisciplinary staff of 100 people made up of educators, monitors, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, job coaching and employment professionals.

Our vision is to grow in ways thatreally contribute to societal changes for improving society wellbeing: tolerant, inclusive, diverse, solidary, sustainable society. Our projects integrate methodologies that can be replicated everywhere involving people with disabilities atits core. AMICOS is based in Galicia, in the North-West of Spain and we manage our projects locally and regionally, focusing on rural areas, and we transfer our expertise and best practices to other entities all over Europe by participating in Erasmus+ cooperative projects.
