STUDY VISIT TORINO - APID IMPRENDITORIALITÁ DONNA

Study visits

Last week we had the great opportunity to meet APID – Imprenditorialitá Donna, winner of the best practice in inclusive entrepreneurship in 2022.

Together with the team from Acción contra el Hambre (leader of the European Network of Innovation for Inclusion), KMOP and Cyprus Energy Agency (finalists in the call for good practices) and Matera Hub (National contact point of the ENNI in Italy), we traveled to Torino to learn about the DIGITAL project and how they are involving young girls in STEM through role modeling and entrepreneurship.

The study visit gave us the chance to meet Cinzia Bellasio and Giovanna Giordano who participated in the awareness sessions aimed at showing young girls the great importance that women have had in key technological and scientific achievements. As authors of the book Feminine computing. Untold stories of women who changed the world. their passion and deep knowledge of women in science and technology played a key role on making young girls interested and empowered to participate in later stages of the project.

We also got to meet Clara Besson, a female entrepreneur participating in the DIGITALL project who could, thanks to it, reflect and get some insights on how to integrate digitalization in its own business.

As part of this visit we also got to meet the work done by Torino Social Impact, supporter of DIGITALL project and Elena Ferrero, co-founder and CEO of Atelier Riforma, a project that has come to revolutionize the fashion industry.

A day to reflect on the importance of bridging the gender-digital gap and ensuring female entrepreneurs and leaders in science and technology are visible to inspire the new generations.
